Her childhood was a turbulent one. As a young girl, her mother ran away in order to escape an abusive relationship. Pickler's mother returned in 1995 back to her home and was given full control of her. The situation did not work out as expected. After Pickler reached the age of 12, the court returned her to her grandmothers, whom she grew up until adulthood. In the absence of their parents Pickler became too busy caring for her siblings. Pickler stated that time was not enough and that she had to learn how to take care of the family members from a young age. Pickler was on the teams that cheered for both high school and middle-school. North Stanly High School was which she graduated from in 2004. Pickler is also an beauty contestant.
