Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American singer and actress is very popular. In her early years she was subjected to racial taunts by many people in America. In the 9th grade, she felt more comfortable after she was acknowledged by her teachers as a success for her performance at school's audition. This not only increased her confidence, but also her goals were changed. She attended New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In 1993, she made her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. However her greatest breakthrough came when she appeared in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway production of Spamalot receiving not just her the Tony Award for her performance as well as a lot of critical praise. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC her role was given greater recognition. As a professional singer She has also recorded one single and an extended work. She is also an activist who is active for LGBT rights.
