Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is an British born American guitarist who was the lead of The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. The group was admired by their raunchy songs and punk-rock style. The band was never able to the band to be a major hit in America however they did gain a fair amount of attention in other countries and in particular Japan. Ford was able to enjoy a long and prosperous career as a heavy-metal solo musician after the group broke up from 1979. After taking voice lessons, she released her debut single album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin at the Edge". Ford failed to make any success with either record and disappeared from the world of rock for 10 years. The year was 1988, when she released her hit album "Lita". Both the single "Kiss me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were big hits. However, the popularity of her career wasn't long-lasting and for several years she disappeared. Then she returned when she released 'Black' in 1995 and 'Wicked Wonderland almost 15 years later. In 2016, she released her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
