Catherine Bell is a tall and athletic model born in London. She relocated with her mother to Los Angeles when she was an infant. Bell dropped out of university to pursue a modeling career in Japan despite her intention to major in premed at school. After working in commercials for a short time, she moved back into Los Angeles to appear on television as a guest as well as to appear in a few minor film roles. Isabella Rosellini was her nude body-double in 1992's film, Death is Her. It led to her meeting her future husband Adam Deason, on set. The spark for her interest came from an appearance on a minor guest show in the NBC drama JAG. JAG changed its location in 1996 and was transferred to CBS which she joined in 1996. She was cast as Lt. commander Harmon "Harm" Rabb (David James Elliott). In real life, as a skater and kickboxer, her athletic skills lead the way for physically demanding scenes in the action films Men of War, Crash Dive, and Black Thunder.
